I just don't see it , It takes some time a few flats or so to get back into form when it;s warm.

Do you mean winter where it is cold? If so, brrrr. No, absolutely nothing to be gained by freezing ones cujones. IMHO Seriously, there is no bad time for shooting, some is just better than others. Shooting is good for you anytime.

You hope that the beer is warm when you're done shooting.

We shoot in the heavy snow and very cold conditions just to get our 500 birds in for the team league

Not for me. Finding gun fit is garbage with extra clothes. I personally shoot thousands of targets in a lightweight shirt and shorts.

    This is just my observances

You right.Shooting with all those clothes on is tough to be consistent but it gives us something to do in the winter.

I decided to sit this winter out after realizing how much money I was spending shooting just to be miserable doing so. My winter shooting was cut back so much over the past few years anyways, pretty much just a 50 target league once a month, so it's not like I'm losing out on much in terms of staying in tune, and it'll be that much more I can afford to shoot in the spring when the weather is nice to get ready for the season. Shooting in the winter really doesn't do anything for me, esp when you are out there shooting just to finish so you can go back inside. I plan to spend some time this winter playing around with handguns at an indoor range since I just got my permit a couple months ago and have already purchased 4 handguns LOL.

I would be doing that to if I had a indoor range to shoot pistol.

No kidding. I've spent more on handguns in the past couple months than I've spend on rifles and shotguns combined for the past handful of years. And I have my eye on more that I want, just need to replenish the bank account a little bit first. Coming from a shotgun background, handguns seem cheap to me since they are much lower in price than a comparable quality shotgun.
