Ask your doctor. I'm sure all the medical experts on here will give you an opinion but it is your doctor who you need to ask. I went back out right away. As I remember, I went to the next shoot.

A close friend of mine had them put in and his Doc said he could never shoot 12ga again. He was worried about the stents disloging. I said BS, find another Doctor. He's shooting 12ga with no problems. I don't remember how long he waited. I think he was shooting .410 within a week then worked up to 12ga. Dave T.

Always ask your doctor. I have been shooting with Stents for over 13 years now with no issues. My doctor advised a 2 week wait at the time.

    Not many people posting here-

Whatever the Doctor will commit to- are you using a doctor who is an athlete or at least a shooter? You might want to consider that if you want an opionion on this subject.

Most docs will not go out on a limb

PS- I think there are different types of stents- you might want to do your own research on that, before you have a conversation with your heart guy. Is the heart guy doing it or is the radiologist?

PPS- there has been a lot of controversy over the last year on if stents should even be used in many cases- read up on this and have a meaningful discussion with your doc. If your doc wont have that discussion- find another that will

I was told to lead a normal life. I went out to a shoot 10 days later and had a big Knot develop where the catheter had been inserted. Wait at least 4 weeks.

I have had a stent placed after each of 2 heart attacks. My Doctor told me to wait a month before resuming shooting. He said it takes time for them to settle and and not move....so far he has been correct.

Heart attack and stent 6 years ago. Missed the damn state shoot because of it. I think I was advised to not do much for a month, then I went back to Doc and he then turned me loose.

My problem was bruising because of the new meds and blood thinners. Get a good recoil pad.

Hope things work out and best of luck.

We are plenty damn lucky to be living when we are now. 20 to 25 years ago, there were no stents. I'm grateful to the medical comm for the improvments that have been made in the past years.

With government takeover of healthcare on the way, I wonder what the future will look like. Chances are white male trapshooters will be left to die.

Shot with them since 2004. I'm right handed. My cardiac specialist, a lady who shoots said I could shoot as soon as I passed my physical therapy regimen. All three phases. No problems. Feel the best when I'm shooting.

here is the story. I work in a radiology dept. We just started to do CTA (cat scan arteriograms of the heart) I was the 9th test patient. found the narrowings. Lucky for me. No idea I had any pending issue. One cardiologist is going to do the cath tomorrow morning and then confer with the interventional cardiologist as to what to do. He is pretty sure he will be put in a stent or two. Understand I will have a life change, diet, exercise, and drugs for the rest of my life. The good thing is I will have a life. If it wasn't the fact I was a test subject, I could have fallen down dead some time.
    wish me luck

The first 2 stents I had put in on a Sat morning. I started back shooting the following Wednsday night.....And I am a southpaw !

Now have a total of 7 installed and need another, but they cant put one in where I need it. Looks like either surgery or a box for me.
