We are very pleased to announce that bookings are now open for the Second Annual Las Vegas 1000. The Las Vegas 1000 is a different format shoot that is designed to be fun, competitive and enjoyable both on and off the line. We are going to shoot 500 Singles targets and 500 Handicap targets over 5 days from May 14th –May 18th.

We have tried to make everything thing about this shoot First Class. We are again using the renamed Las Vegas Hilton. We provide luxury coach transfers to and from the Club, Clark County Shooting Park, run by Steve Carmichael, is one of the best facilities in the Country, we have a whole bunch of sponsors already on board providing special prizes and trophies, we provide secure, over night storage of guns and ammo, we have a shuttle to the fields, a hospitality tent just for our shooters and we wrap it up with an Awards Banquet Friday night at the hotel.

Already over 25 of our shooters from last year have put up their deposits to return this year. You can pre-order your ammo and with coach transfers you don’t even need a rental car because the Hotel is right on the monorail line. Just fly in with your gun and shoot bag for a great week of shooting and Las Vegas fun. Plus, you can bring a non-shooting companion for only $99.00.

If you can’t come for a whole week, we have created the Las Vegas 500. It features 200 Singles targets and 100 Handicap targets on Thursday and 200 Handicap targets on Friday. Come in Wednesday night and get 3 nights in the Hotel, coach transfers, etc. Stay the weekend and shoot the regular ATA on Saturday and Sunday.

We will also be shooting some target only, anytime doubles this year for the fun of it.

Full details at the link above and be sure to check out the trophy winners and pics from last year. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Could you send me a program? I'm driving my 1970 Mach 1 out there to sell to my uncle in March. I may just hold off until May and come shoot.

    Thanks,
    Shane

We didn't post individual payouts but the 5 HC yardage group winners won $246.00 each with RU getting $82.00 from the purse and the Lewis splits were $200/S120/$80 in each yardage group. Ties divided.

In Singles, purse payouts were $244.50 and $81.50 in 5 classes and the same $200/$120/$80 in the each class' Lewis.

All together, we had 30 shooters win checks.

We are trying to make it to Vegas for a mini vacation and a shoot this year. I was wondering which shoot would be better to attend? The Nevada state shoot at the end of March or the Vegas 1000 in mid May.

Which shoot will draw more shooters and which one typically has better weather?

Also are golf carts allowed at either shoot?

    Thanks Huntinandhotrods

Golf carts work well as do cars. The parking lot runs the length of the line. We will be running a shooters shuttle during our shoot as well.

As to weather, statistically May is warmer than March but who wants to predict weather?

We had a couple of PMs about the Coach service. We use luxury, 55 passenger coaches with DVDs and restrooms. We boarded at the hotel about 7:45 for the 35-40 minute run to the Club. We returned to the hotel in plenty of time to get cleaned up and ready for Las Vegas Strip nightlife.

The first morning everyone brought their gun but then we stored them at the club so that people didn't have to worry about theft during the week.

Because the hotel is on the monorail, you don't have to rent a car to get around. Just a 15 minute cab ride from/to the airport.

Can shells be purchased at the club for a fair price?

Last year we were able to make shells available pretty much at Walmart prices for both economy shells and premiums. The best part is that you can pre-order what you want and then we store them at the club. Before each event, you just pick up 4 boxes. Most guys ordered 5 flats so that they would have practice shells. Those that had some boxes left over donated them to the SCTP.

Guns are stored overnight in their cases. We have cleaning tables setup with free cleaning products so that you can give your gun a quick cleaning before putting it away.

    Hi Bill,

One of the reasons we are going to make doubles available this year is to gauge the interest of the shooters. Obviously, with our coach transfers, gun storage, pre-ordered ammo, etc we make it real easy for guys to fly in. We want to know how many SBT gun shooters are willing to pack their doubles gun as well.

What does everyone else think. Would 500 doubles and 500 handicap be a fun format?
