On behalf of the Lafayette Young Lawyers Association, I would like to encourage you to participate in the 6th Annual Shoot for Justice Tournament benefiting the Lafayette Parish Bar Foundation. The event will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 with the first and only flight to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Gol Shooting Range (11919 LA Hwy. 697, Maurice, Louisiana 70555, Phone: 337-316-1936).

This year’s tournament promises to be a great networking opportunity and hopefully a great day to be outside on Friday afternoon. There are several ways to participate in this event.

    Get a team together!
    Shooter Registration
    • Team fees are $100 per shooter
    • $400 per four-man team
    • $500 for teams with a golf cart
    • Cart Rentals are $100. The carts will be at GOL the day of the shoot. They are first-come, first serve, available by reservation. So please reserve your golf cart in advance.
*Free lessons will be given at GOL shooting range on Sunday, March 17th from noon until 4pm by Jacob Hargett.

Contact a company(or get your firm) to sponsor the event!
    Sponsorship Opportunities
    • Station Sponsor: $100
    • Bronze: $250
    • Silver: $500
    • Gold: $1,000
*For more information about the benefits of each sponsorship level, please download the registration form.

Food, beverage and door prize donations are also great ways to create a custom sponsorship package and garner company recognition among Lafayette’s legal community and friends. To date, we already have the following food and beverage sponsors: Acadiana Bottling, Inc, Parish Brewing, Schilling Distributors, and food donated by Prolegal. The Honorable Judge Duplantier and Miles Matt have generously donated their time to fry fish for everyone at this event.

As noted on the registration form, each participant has the opportunity to win:
    • overnight duck hunts for four people
    • tickets to an LSU baseball or basketball game

Additionally, we will have raffle board at the shoot where you can pick a square for $20 giving you a chance to win a 125 quart YETI ice chest valued at $500, or $500 cash! Each of these are guaranteed prizes and will be given away when the board is full.

All proceeds will go to the Lafayette Parish Bar Foundation which is a non-profit charitable organization that offers legal assistance to those who cannot afford it through its three pro bono programs: H.E.L.P. – offering legal help for the homes in obtaining copies of birth certificates, the Protective Order Panel which helps victims of domestic violence obtain Title 46 protective orders against their abusers, and the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyer program which matches volunteer lawyers with such as divorce, bankruptcy, and SSI for the underprivileged in our community. Last year, the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers helped 2495 people in the Acadiana area! So clearly, the funds raised by this event will be put to a beneficial use in the community you live in.

The Lafayette Bar Association is a non-profit organization, thus if you participate it is tax deductable!

If you want to attend the event, please call Tammy at the Lafayette Bar Association at 337-237-4700.

I hope to see you there!

    Jacob
