    Hi Everyone
    I am using a Mec 9000g loader. I just started using Clay-dot powder with Claybuster 1100 1 oz wads, Winchester 209 primers and STS hulls. I am trying to get to a load that is as low recoil as possible so for singles so I’m loading a 29 bushing which drops 15.7 grains and Handicap at 24 yards I was going to use a 31 bushing which drops 16.9 grains. I’ve been told that Clay-Dot can use the same recipe as Clays but would like if anyone has had them check.

    Thanks for any info

    Steve

    Check Brownells website they have chronographs from $120 up. You could find a friend who has one for an even better deal.

    I switched to Clay-Dot powder early this year. My load is;

    Winchester 209 primer

    Remington STS or Gun Club hull

    16.7 grains of Clay-Dot

    Blue 'duster' wad (NothingButDust brand)

    1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2 shot.

    Velocity = 1150 fps over my ProChrono chronograph.

    I use this load on all three disciplines except the first shot of doubles where I use the same loading but substitute a green 'duster' and 1 oz of shot.

    I am a AA 26.5 A shooter.

    My 2 cents.
