I have about 16 lbs of Red Dot powder to sell and was wondering if it is legal to mail through UPS or The US postal Service.

    Thanks

I used to get get free powder from one of the major powder companies, and they would send me 16 lbs of power thru UPS every 3 to 6 months

It's a haz-mat shipment and you'll probably only be able to send it if you go to a FedEX or UPS center. The outlet shops usually won't accept haz-mat items.

UPS would do it but probably charge the $25 hazardous fee. I wouldn't lie to them about the contents.

I know that they frown on it at the post office.

I believe you are not going to be able to ship powder as an individual. USPS does not allow it. UPS and FedEx require you to be a lcensed HAZMAT shipper to originate a shipment.

A private party cannot legally ship it. Ditto Jim Skeel.

It isnt a lie to state you are shipping "reloading components" The post office only asks if you are shipping a hazardous item! I handle smokeless powder all the time and dont consider it hazardous!

    NO NO NO NO NO

Do not ship it via USPS

Only UPS / FedEx if you are a HAZMAT trained shipper. If something happens, it will be the Feds that come calling.

If you can't ship somebody at your club should want it, if I lived close enough I'd come get it...where do you live??
