I am looking at a Seitz barrel that has been back bored, choked, and ported.

I have been shooting along time, but an embarrassed that I don't know a thing about this gunsmith's work.I know that Allor's and Wilkerson's work to be the best of the best.

I would appreciate any insight/opinions about the quality of Seitz barrel work- good, bad or in-diffferent. Thanks for you help.

Seitz was the best until his unfortunate death. The original
Seitz single barrel trap gun stills bring top dollar on the
    used gun market.

IMO Tom, c.c. seitz, was the best. Allor and Wilkinson are good, but not as good as Tom Seitz.

He passed away in a motor home accident. I believe the heater was on at night and it was carbon monoxide poison that got to him.

Back when Tom was alive...if he knew you well, you got a hat that said "I know Tom Seitz Personally". Quite an honor to have one of those hats. And yet he was a modest man.

Dale Wolff , I don't know where you came up with that story of Tom's unfortunate death, but it is wrong. To begin with , It was late 80's not the 60's. Nothing blew up. There was no autopsy, but they believe it was carbon monoxide.

Tom did not blow up. he and the son were killed by carbob monoxide. I have two Seitz barrels. One on a Sx-1 trap and an 870 mfiled gun that he tuned to shoot a 1 1/2 load of Copper BB's. Jeff
