Second look at "the Judge"

    Second look at

    It's value would be as a close range weapon. Accuracy at any distance appeared to be supect. Some of the bullets keyholed and if you want a handgun in .45 colt there are better choices. As a close range firearm using the .410 loads it should get the job done with the right ammo but I think I would still prefer something other than a .410 for self defense.

    Saw the Rifleman article too...Since you asked:
    Don't have one, have no interest in obtaining one. If one were given to me, I'd probably buy a box of .45 colt shells, (already have a LARGE amount of .410's). After establishing that it was absolutely reliable I'd leave it in the truck for one of those "just-in-case" moments.

    Too much novelty; not enough practicality. There are better large bore snubbies out there. The Taurus "Judge" looks ungainly, too big and not enough practical accuracy.

    I'd buy one of their short barreled .44 SPLs instead.

    All I want to do is try to hit a few skeet with it. I'd probably do better throwing rocks at the birds, but it would be fun.
