Scrap lead price?

    Friend of mine has some lead sheets,about 1,500 lbs.and wants to sell. Should be very clean. Anyone tell me the going rate?

    Andy, I looked today at the spot market price and it was 1.29 a pound and it seems to be going down.

    Just bought lead last weekend at the scrap yard and paid .53 a pound.Price is still dropping.

    Sit down with the phone and call around. You will find prices all over the place. When asking ask for raw lead and wheel weight lead prices. You really want the wheel weights for shot.

    I would offer him .40-.50 cents a pound, that seems to be what most people want. If you pay .50 a pound, that makes a bag of shot about 12.50, not counting your time of course.

    current price here in MA .20 to .50 per lb. Depending who what when where ect ect.

    Scrap yard will pay 30 cents / lb. for clean scrap. Can be bought
    at 50 cents/lb. Been that price around here(Ky)since June. Before that it was 22 cents / lb.

    Sold 300 lbs of range scrap lead last month at the recycle yard in New Jersey for $.50 a pound. Jack Melitsky

    i tried to sell some lead at the scrap yard also, and the best price was .20 cents the low was .17 cents. i can't understand where you get these prices?.....jim
