I was at the gun club last weekend and the club manager, who holds an FFL, was opening a box from UPS. Being the nosy guy that I am, I hung around as the manager opened the box. Cardboard around cardboard around a leather gun case. Inside ? A two gun Fabri ( sp? ) gun set. The club manager said the buyer told him it was the most expensive two gun set he had ever purchased. Later also learned this same individual had purchased the four gun Perazzi set that was at the Grand several years ago in the Perazzi building with an asking price of almost $500K. That's $500,000 ! ! !
Friends and I all concluded the guns were a work of art, but probably not one in a thousan average joe's would know the cost/value of the gun if they saw in on the trap/skeet range or in the field. I was assured the guns weren't going to sit in a display case - would be shot in the field. What's the limit, if you had unlimited funds, would you pay for a gun ?

If I had unlimited funds..I'd get with Dennis DeVault.. and get his O/U in production.. I think with unlimited funds.. he could easily bring the 0/U into the 21st century..

A Seitz O/U with titanium everything..would also be nifty..

Shy of these 2 offerings..My Caprius and my Perazzi's do just fine..

Even with unlimited funds, I would have limits. I don't think I would pay that much for a gun no matter what.

What I would do is buy a really nice gun, like a Ljutic or a Devault, and send it to an engraver I know and have some custom art work done. It might cost me $50K, but it would be worth it to me. And, you can be sure that it would have thousands of rounds put through it. A gun just isn't a gun if you don't shoot it.

If i had that kind of money I would buy that near new BT 99 Plus that was for sale on this site. I would also buy a real nice Citori Plus for doubles and clays, a couple truck loads of ammo, a new moter home to take to shoots, a new home, nice super cub, new Ford Super Duty, get the wife some new head lights, and I bet i would have enough left over to take all options at the Golden West Grand,-----

If I had UNLIMITED funds? I'd get a GE Minigun and a truck load of ammo.

You going to have any more than just new headlights done on the old girl, or are you going to go thru her completely?

It's Fabbri, by Ivo Fabbri. The original partner of Daniele Perazzi in the '60s.

I bet the four barrel set was the one w/the naked ladies engraved on it right? If so he owned a krieghoff double rifle also.

I can't let this thread go by without mentioning the DeVault name myself. Not sure what I'd ask for, but it'd be different. Dennis would keep me practical and still find a way to give me what I want. An O/U would be great. Maybe something with a red dot. I really like his engineering.

The most unique gun transaction I ever saw at a gun club involved a hunting dog, a Brittany Spaniel to be exact. No, I'm not kidding..... The sick son of a bich traded a dog for a gun!!

I would buy all the nice Browning Double Automatics that could be bought. I would have a K80 TS made in blue with the simple design of the Remington M32 on the receiver with serial #32. I would shoot until my back gave out.

I originally though I would have someone shoot for me. If he missed one, he'd loose his head!

Then I thought I'd buy some gold Purdys like these....

....and I would have the Swedish Bikini Team load for me...

...and I would hire this team to protect me...

If I had unlimited funds, a Browning would surely not be on the list. Neil
