savage/stevens 512?

    would these be ok for someone that only shoots 100/150 rounds a year?

    Yes, but I'd buy a Lanber before I bought one of those Savage/Stevens 512's. They are about the same money and the Lanber is a lot nicer.

    I have had 1 in a 20ga for about 3 years. I use it mainly for hunting but have shot about 100 rounds of trap. Love it never had a problem with it. We have a guy at the gun range that has a 12ga and he shoots clays with his, I don't know how many rounds he has put thru it but I would guess about 700 and he has never had a problem with his.

    I have one in 28 gauge that I used to shoot 5 Stand. It broke both firing pins way before 100 rounds (2500 shots). It is now fixed and in the back of the safe. I moved on to an SKB, which has been a great gun. The 512 might stand up to hunting use, but isn't up to the task of sport shooting, IMO. Mark
