I recently bought a Savage 22-250 bolt action at a sale. I took the bolt out to clean and lube everything properly. The problem is I can't get the bolt back in. I thought I was doing everything in reverse of taking it apart but I guess not. Moving the lever on the right that allows the bolt to be removed does not work. Help please

    Dave,
Not sure which model you have, but some of them you need to pull the trigger at the same time you depress the lever. While doing both of those things with your right hand, insert the bolt with your left. Good luck and good shooting, Roger

and, as I recall, the Savage company is very helpful and friendly, a quick call and also ask for an owner's book should get you down the road..
