San Antonio Shooting

"Nothing to see here, folks. Just keep moving," said Diane Feinstein in my head.

On Sunday, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theatre started running and screaming. It's like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant!

Now aren't you wondering why this isn't a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting? There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone.

So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened. Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you'd like to know.

There was a brief mention of this story on Fox News the day it happened, but because there was no AR involved and an off duty cop was there to stop the shooter, the story never got any traction.

I even posted it, but erased it a couple days ago.

FWIW: The 3 Jan 2013 San Antonio Express-News has this below-the-fold on the front page today referring to the debate over this incident: "Last month, an employee at the China Garden restaurant went beserk with a gun, firing indiscriminately at patrons and chasing someone into the Santikos Mayan Palace 14 movie theatre, police said, where he fired more shots and struck someone. A Bexar County sheriff's sergeant, working off-duty as a security guard at the theater, ended what could've been a massacre when she shot Jesus Manual Garcia several times and took his gun."

It is possible things have gotten blown out of proportion here. Ron
