Received a message that Sage Hill will close its doors this Summer unless a new person comes in and leases the facility. Anyone else heard this?

Next month might help if it is "Take a Dot.Com" Billionaire to lunch at your favorite trapclub month!

    This is indeed sad news.

The "pin" on the map (see link above) is actually in the right place.

All the traps face into the mountain. On the lower traps (the left end of the line, which hasn't been used in about 12 or so years) you could see your shot impact the side of the hill.

Sage Hill and Reno was one of our favorites...always a lot of fun. Sorry it looks like the end of yet another fine club. Hopefully they can find someone to "lease it". Our thanks to Darlene and staff for always putting on a great shoot and related activities.

That place is really impressive from the satellite view. Looks like the town is creeping in on it though. Would have like to have been there when they had all of the traps runnin'. Wish you the best.

Looks like a heck of an operation. 30 traps, 7500sq ft clubhouse, deli, bar, etc..

I sure hope somebody can take it over and run it.

I believe it's time for one or more of Reno's casinos to get back the fray.
For those who remember Harolds club involvment, long before Sage Hill, there were big crowds, good food, gambling, sponsered air flights from the east coast, great trophies, and a general good time.
One would believe that the Indian casinos have hurt Reno's income, so the time may be right for Reno's casinos to increase their attractiveness by emulating the past sucess of Harolds Club and trapshooting.
I don't believe a Sage Hill lease holder can bring back the 60's and 70's without a large casino involvment. Sage Hill facilities shouldn't be lost.
We cannot afford to lose another great club. Regards, klay_buster

We could use a positive movie about trapshooting sorta like "Breaking Away" that energized serious bicycle riding...popularity in sports/hobbies seems to vary over time..

With: Jimmy Smits as Dan Bonillas
    Rich Bullard as himself
    Sharon Bullock as Nora Ross
    And....Anthony Hopkins as Al Ljutic

I knew and took lessons from Al. Tommy Lee Jones would be a better fit.

Clint Eastwood as Al Ljutic and Sharon Bullock's cute sister Sandra as Nora.

Very lucky that Bulley and I won a couple "old guys" trophies at what may be the last Reno Golden West Grand. Sure hope somebody steps in and continues the tradition. Best of Luck to Darlene and thanks from the shooters of Oregon.

    Just a thought, Mike Mann
