Am looking at a S&W Model 29. I'm sure it is a Lew Horton gun. it is blued, 6" barrel, funky adjustable front sight & a smooth cylinder. Any idea on value? The guy is asking $500 with a custom holster? Thanks

it is just a 29 with unfluted cyl most likely, still worth the money if you need it

I think it may be more of a target model with the adjustable front sight. Does the front sight have four positions available? I seem to remember a silloutte pistol with four positions for the front sight, for 25,50,75 and 100 yard shots. I will have to consult the S&W bible to be sure. As for the price, does it come with the original box etc?

I had one like that, with the four position front site, and it definitely had a 6" barrel. Had a ported barrel. Got snookered out of it by dishonest gunsmith.

Given the current market, I wouldn't be ashamed to give $500.00 for it.

IMO "custom" holster is a throw in. How much will seller take w/o the holster? Bet it's $500.00

When I bought my S&W 6" with the adjustable front sight for shooting silhouette, it cost over $900.00. If someone is asking 500 for it, it sounds like a bargain. I have to check the receipt for the actual price. Mine is exactly as you describe, and is extremely accurate.
