I picked up some leftover bags of Remington RXP 12 wads at the club last weekend. They had 4 bags of them left for cheap so I took a chance on the savings. Today I checked the Aliant website to be sure the regular 1-1/8 recipie that I've been using with fig. 8's is okay for the RXP's, it is. I loaded up a handful and patterned them on the board. They really look great on the board.

Does anyone know why these wads are not used very much anymore? They are really a competing product line to the other Remington wads, why do they have them both?

    Just curious.<br>

I think these are the same wad used in the gun club shell. Good wad.

I use them and like them. I would say that I'm using a higher percentage of the fig. 8's but I do buy and use them. On my 20 gauge reloads I almost exclusivly use RXP 20's.

They seem to slide into the hull a bit easier than the fig 8's, more like a downrange wad.

There is no clone for the RXP..Remington wads are expensive.
I use the RXP when loading 22grs. of Green Dot in a Win.AA hull.

I like the RXP although rather expensive. Good patterns/breaks and I consider them a mid-range wad compared to say a Versalite for the longer shots. Loads good in AA and Rem. hulls. Don't see many reloaders using them - probably because of the expense.

They were replaced by figure 8 which cost less to manufacture. At one time there were a whole series of Power Piston wads for every size load.

I would say that by the amount of Gun Club shells sold, quite a few RXP 12's are still used.
