I have a 16 gauge field grade model 12 that has a small aount of rust/pitting in the bore. How can I remove it or should I take it to a smith? It shoots fine but the thought of the rust/pitting bothers me. Thanks for any help. jack melitsky

Once a spot of rust starts it never stops till all the rust is removed down to parent metal. I'd send it to a good shop and have it removed properly if it was mine. Once it's removed properly, it may shoot even better than it does now? Hap
