went to a shoot yesterday, rain and lots of folks shooting made everthing run late. the last squad of handicap couldn't shoot their last 25 because of darkness. {no lights at this club} what do they do now? score what they had plus 25 misses? or just call it a 50 or 75 bird event? or something else?

For that squad their scores would be recorded as targets hit out of 75 not 100.

On the blue sheet sent in to the ATA, most of the handicap scores would be reported as 93, 86, 91 ect. But the last squads scores will be reported something like 71/75, 69/75, 72/75.

If the squad had started the last sub- event and the squad decided that they could not finish, the remaining targets would be recorded as lost. If the management decided that the last 20 or so targets could not be shot, then only the first 75 would be scored.

How do you determine winners? If the last squad was short 25 targets do they not qualify to win the event?

They could only win the event if their score out of 75 targets was the highest including the scores on 100 targets. It may sound harsh, but actually it is very fair. If we counted the % or targets broken, then a shooter who ran the first 25 and had to quit because of a thunder storm would have an advantage. It would not be fair to declare him the winner over someone who shot 97/100.
