Maybe I stated it wrong. I have heard of what I thought to be rose points, then again, maybe I'm getting old....

The publication Trap Options by Scattergun Press, Austin Texas illustrates the Rose option. The description is the same as explained by Ron Baker. In addition, the option was copyrighted in 1898 by A. R. Rose of Salida, Colorado.

Here is another example of a calculated Rose option.

    Rose option $10.00 paid 4 places ( Points - 1st = 5, 2nd = 3, 3rd = 2, 4th = 1)

    Sample 16 yd Singles Event
    20 shooters enter at $10.00 = $200.00 or $10.52 per point ( $200.00 divided by 19 total points)

    Shooter Score Points Paid

    Shooter 1 100 5 $52.60 ( 5 points times $10.52)
    Shooter 2 99 3 $31.56 ( 3 points times $10.52)
    Shooter 3 99 3 $31.56 ( 3 points times $10.52)
    Shooter 4 97 2 $21.04 ( 2 points times $10.52)
    Shooter 5 97 2 $21.04 ( 2 points times $10.52)
    Shooter 6 97 2 $21.04 ( 2 points times $10.52)
    Shooter 7 96 1 $10.52 ( 1 point times $10.52)
    Shooter 8 96 1 $10.52 ( 1 point times $10.52)
    Shooter 9 95
    Shooter 10 95
    Shooter 11 95
    Shooter 12 94
    Shooter 13 93
    Shooter 14 92
    Shooter 15 90
    Shooter 16 89
    Shooter 17 89
    Shooter 18 88
    Shooter 19 83
    Shooter 20 82

    19 $199.88

    Hope this helps - Wally

Thanks- I was not familiar with the term Rose System. It seems to be similar to a purse at the Grand that goes under another name.

Ron- I have long known about the Jack Rabbit purse and have tried to get a few clubs to use it. I think it would be fun. But, it would be a real problem for cashiers.
