Some years ago, I purchased a book called Winchester Shotguns and Shot shells. The author was Ron Stadt and I was wondering if any of you out there had heard of him and if he is still alive. I would like to contact him if anyone would know where he lives or if by chance you had a phone number for him. Thanks.
Ron is still alive but not shooting anymore. I used to see him at Rend Lake. He had a goal of a certain amount of Registered Targets he wished to achieve. He finally made that quota and hung it up. Last I heard he sold his massive Winchester collection as well as his shooters and is enjoying his retirement. Always liked hearing Ron's stories and he could tell them well. Great guy that I wish I had met earlier in his shooting career. I believe he resides near the Mt. Vernon, IL area.
Missed him at Grand American this year. And I looked for him, asked some shooters. Guess there not avid Winchester people.
Send him my best.
Old Friend.Thought I might get to shoot some doves with him.
Thank you for the number. I will give him a call this week. I have a question about a model 42 and I think he may be able to answer it.
