With a lot of history being re written I have a few questions to ask those who advocate gun bans and gun control.

    1. The very first murder....did Cain kill Abel with a gun?

    2. The pre gun era, (yes there was one)....no one was killed or murdered?

    3. The pre-gun era...the governments were all benevolent dictators?

    4. Do other than gun murders get a pass as non atrocity?

Would be great if a pro gun historian could compile a figure of just how many people died from the beginning of recorded history up to the date of the invention of the first gun. Percent murders to then population and percent to now population.

And I forgot to mention Herod. God told us there would be times like this.

Did Herod do psychotropic drugs or play video games?

Our history is one of violence. As a species we haven't changed in that regard.

But what you are getting at is one of our main motivators -fear. The gun control battle is driven by fear on both sides. The ones that want to ban all guns are afraid of them but what they are really afraid of is the evil doers that may use them. Same on the other side except the progun people want the ability to deal with the evil doers more directly.

The battle would be the same over the automobile if they weren't an everyday fixture for nearly every person in the country. They aren't feared like guns because people are exposed to them on a daily basis. Fact is the automobile is just as deadly as the gun and is involved with a lot more death. (excludes wars)

I have used the same argument many times over.

Let's go back to a more peaceful time, before guns were invented, when people weren't killing one another.

People don't know what to say after that.

Don't you mean when people were killing each other with clubs, swords, arrows and spears?

Not to mention hot oil, poisons, daggers, catapults and wild animals.

As I recall the Romans use to toss Plague infected bodies over the walls of there enemy's fortifications with catapults. No bullets or cannon balls there...

Yes, that's a great answer, Rick. Yes and it's the Second Amendment coupled with the Declaration which states our rights clearly come from the laws of Nature and of Nature's God.
