It was a sunny day in Philadelphia in 1787, and the Constitutional convention had just finished its work. A woman, watching the esteemed gentlemen congratulate themselves, approached one of the young nation's leading statesmen, Ben Franklin.

"Mr. Franklin, what kind of government have you given us?" she asked. "A Republic, madam..." Franklin quickly answered, "if you can keep it."

    RIP America..... 2012

Someone wrote on here a few weeks ago:

"When you take from Peter to give to Paul....you can always count on the support of Paul."

    We are screwed.

Unfortunately we have reached the point of no return for our country. We could survive a second term of Barack Obama but not an electorate that elects an Obama as President, sees what he is, and then elects him for a second term.

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."
    Alexis de Tocqueville

    We are there!

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s trenchant observation:

‘The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money to spend.’”

Infamous Quote from Nikita Khrushchev (1894-1971) Premier of the Soviet Union "We can't expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism."

What do you want to bet Obama was talking to the Russians about this issue in secret?

Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000.

That was America's wake-up call, for anybody who was paying attention. I knew we were lucky then, but worse days were ahead.
