1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

I bought one of these new in 1968. 2 1/4 ounces of buffered #2 copper plated shot ahead of 58 grains of AL-8. That stuff looked like black oatmeal. rock and roll baby. Killed snow geese all the time at 70 yards. Ahhh those were the days my friend.

Back when I had a stuffy head....I went duck hunting with a 10 Ga o/u just like this....cleared out the sinus cavity. put a CH merc Recoil reducer in stock, not bad. Had a WARNING LABEL on it..."Warning this gun will cripple or kill......both ends" 1 5/8 OZ #7.5 shot on a trap field from way back was amazing.....shoot under the dropping target fo smoke at 60+ yds.

I have a richland sxs now retired I bought new in 1973,these guns are not compatable with steel shot unless the chokes are opened up.Becareful unless your shooting lead.Miss those days,4 buck @ hiflyers,it was whack and stack mallards and honkers. We also shot pheasants with it,remington loaded 27/8" shells.

I'll bet that scratch on the stock was from somebody's lower jaw flapping around after pulling the second barrel!

    Can't imagine shooting that beast.

What a bunch of WHOOSES !!! The recoil from this 10 ga. is No Where close to way you pussies are describing here, First of all it is a Very heavy Gun and when you are shooting it in a hunting situation with water fowl clothing on it is not even an issue, now if Your argument was to shoot it with a T- shirt on in a 200 Bird clay target event that would be a different story. Remember as a Wise Pollock once said Quote " It is not bad to Not Know Something "
But ( Another Quote ) "" If You don't Know, that You Don't Know, you may have a problem """ and it is evident that Wolfram and come on tron I would think that you would know better than this. I am only 5'9' 185 lbs. and I have NO problem shooting it at all in a Hunting situation. Tony LOL LOL

Hey Tony, I am a recoil wuss. My 686 Beretta with 1 3/8 Oz high vel loads knocks the crap out of me and were talking two shots max at fun flying things.

I did shoot one round of 3 1/2" mag 10 gauge (lead) out of an Ithaca autoloader and that memory has me saying I'll never be a 10 guage guy.

If we must use a famous quote, "a man has got to know his limitations' would be more appropriate:)

To be honest i have shot a Richland O/U-it was my buddies b/c i myself don't own a 10ga-it was a very smooth shooting gun. It is hard to get swinging but when you do you have real nice follow through!haahha But recoil is not bad. The only trouble i had with it was getting used to the double trigger.

Yeah, chalk me up as a Woosey also. I would have to agree with Wolfram in his first post. You may even find some of the guys DNA from his jaw bone embedded in that scratch.

Don't worry about the steel shot. I've been shooting steel out of my AYA with .042 chokes and see no damage. Steel shot damage in thick barrel guns is highly overrated.

I had a Richland 10 ga. SxS 3-1/2 mag back in the very early 70's. Great goose gun loaded with 2 oz. copper plated BB's with ground poly for a cushion in the shot. It weighed over 13 pounds, and was much more pleasant to shoot than a 3 inch Winchester Model 12 magnum I had which really did make the old cheek bone hurt.
