The best rib joint in the area is right there in Sparta. Get there early or plan on waiting awhile. Check out their pork chops also.

You ain't had no Soul Food until you make it to Bubba's Ribs, Tips, and Chits in East St.Louis ... Do not use the drive up or valet parking because they don't have any Valets, so your car or truck will most likely be gone ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Bandana's is very good. Located in a small strip mall at the intersection of Rt. 159 and Frank Scott Pkwy. Take 159 south from Rt. 50 about two miles and you'll be there. Also, 17th St. Bar and Grill is very good as well. They're located on Rt.50 about a mile or so west of the O'Fallon exit on I64.

WPT your post above is another reason for you to show up at the Grand this year. Your description of E STL is one of 20 years ago, have you seen the new and improved E STL? Oh sure there is still a liquor store or two and a few strip clubs in between, but most of E STL is gone. After all the windows were broken, and anything worth stealinig was stolen the bulldozers moved in. They did one hell of a nice job. They did such a nice job they could have 80 acre cornfields between the liquor stores now, if they wanted.

You really need to visit S. Il and the Grand, hopefully this year.
