Well, I've been warning you for months that the inept Republican Party better snap out of their stupor and produce a qualified standout candidate. Now, unless the Democrats have a catastrophic meltdown, it's pretty much too late.

Obama's war chest is bulging at the seams and legitimate Republicans like Huckabee and Daniels are running for the hills. Even bigmouth Trump ended his phoney "campaign" and scampered off with his tail between his legs.

Now even Roger Ailes is starting to panic... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/22/roger-ailes-palin-stupid-fox-news-new-york_n_865117.html?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk1%7C64657

Once again, I propose that the Republican Party be legally forced to change its party name to that of it's real identity - DEMOCRAT LITE. Then we can rebuild with some people who actually remember what the word "conservative" means.

GW22 your correct we need to get back to a real TWO party system. Not party A1 and A2.
I think the Republican power brokers are mailing in 2012, and concentrating on 2016. They really don't have the guts to oppose our minority-race president in 2012.

Herman Cain is in. A black man who gets it. Who better to run against Obama? Watch the libs have fits because they can't use the race claim.

The "black" voting populace is not going to run out and vote for Cain. Just sticking someone on the Republican ticket because of his/her race is a short sighted band-aid and will fail...AGAIN...just look at the Palin debacle from 2008.

There has been talk about Rubio being on the ticket so he can get some of the Hispanic vote. Yeah, well the people who think that do not know anything about Hispanics. Cubans are not looked highly upon by Mexicans or Central Americans, the two majority Hispanic groups in this country. So there goes that plan for Rubio being on the ticket. Now people are thinking Cain will take away the "black" vote from the Democrats? LMAO Republicans need to do more outreach on a whole to other voting segments of the populace rather than just trying to find a minority or a woman to stick on the ticket and hope to bleed votes from the Democrats.

Time to look at some 3rd party candidates. As the original title of the thread indicates, the Republican Party is still clueless.

Look for 3rd party candidates? what a joke

Elections are won by majorities with money to spend

The reason that Republican candidates dont want to run is the fringe element demanding they look into things like Obamas birth certificate and who shot bin laden

The fringe has ruined the party

OK, I get it. Cain being a proven "git 'er done" guy who also happens to be black makes him a short sighted band aid candidate, and being black works AGAINST his ability to win.

Gene, if you are correct there is no America left to save. If you are correct it doesn't make a dam**d bit of difference because America is GONE, but if you are wrong your attitude will help kill the only thing the Americans who still come down on the side of liberty may have going for them. I don't see ANY white man defeating Obama. I don't know that any white woman can. If anyone has a legitimate chance, in my opinion it is a talented capable black man who can attract the votes of anyone who wants a job, AND a sizable part of the black vote. I fail to see how giving the non-black voter a way to correct their mistake without being accused of racism can be a mistake.

    Brothers and Sisters:

There is a forest out there. You are missing it because of your insistence on hugging the trees.

You all seem to have forgotten about the electoral college. If we concede California and New York to Ubama, we would need to win Florida and Ohio. Go back to the states who supported McCain and find out which ones will vote straight Republican ticket again in 2012. Add up the votes. Now, decide among yourselves which TWO(Pres. & VEEP)Republicans will hold our earlier victories and also win Florida and Ohio. Remember McDonnell's victory in the VA Gubernatorial and Christie's win in NJ.

As it stands right now, we have young, persuasive candidates who, if strategically victorious, will make an Ubama victory virtually impossible.

Prove me wrong. Add up the Electoral College votes factoring the states we must win, and prove to me that we can't nominate a winning ticket.

Think about this:Rubio is the key to the "strong box." His voice and his story go far beyond his Hispanic ancestry...and yet his ancestry has immeasurable worth. Right now, his most significant contribution would be as Vice-President because we need to groom him into the Presidency over an eight year term. We need a good, "clean" and bright little penny who has, at a minimum, a pair of testicles to be our Presidential candidate and there is at least one of those behind every tree.

Lighten up, guys. Rome wasn't built in a day. One of the really great things about the number of faces and names in the media today is that they all have an "R" after their names. They call that "FREE ADVERTISING" and who doesn't like that? Geez, the Republican National Convention isn't until August 27, 2012. That's 15 months from now. If you guys keep agonizing at your current rate, you won't have anything left.

We have to keep our powder dry. Back in the days when I played golf, an old Pro reminded me that I could not win the tournament in the first round...but I could lose it. Now is the time for focus, study, committment, and resolve.
Conservative principles and personal discipline are what will guide us to victory. Be positive!

Glad Daniels made it clear he was not running. We did not need another McCain on the ballot.

OK, Obama has suffered a devastating blow thanks to the Tea Party holding his feet to the spending fire.

So, 15 months before the election and who do the dipshit Republicans have who can beat this pathetic opponent?

"Duh, let's nominate another dimwit loser like McCain, Ollie."

Obama is going to be gone in a landslide. The only person in America who is happy about Obama is Jimmy Carter. RIP Jimmy, your no longer the worst pResident of our Great Nations White House. It took 33 years as you were no small hurdle, But words like Carterizing the military, will be history. Yep The socialist, marxist, liberal democrats found and elected your replacement.

The Republicans have no clear, qualified front runner, and Treefrog is boldly declaring a "landslide" victory.

Another well thought-out Republican viewpoint. Same cluelessness that got Obama elected in the first place.

It's sad that you seem to believe that the majority of Americans want a very strong conservative government. The sooner you realize this is in fact, not the case, and people who want such things are very much in the minority (they just have the largest voice because they make noise), the better for you, an the country.

Sure Trappy...just like the last election. If I remember right, the Liberals got their butt spanked.

Watch out if the Conservatives get a Candidate that actually sells himself as a job creator, and budgeteer.
