Republican conservatives now have a difficult choice.

Do we take the high road, and work shoulder to shoulder in support of Obama, and with the Democrat-controlled Congress to address, and hopefully solve, the immense problems facing our country right now...or do we bitch and moan, question, undermine, second-guess, and react negatively to everything the administration says or does...like the Democrats have done to the Bush administration for the last 8 years?

I'll have to think about this for a long time.

I say bitch 'n moan, question, undermine, you name it. I don't care for this guy's solutions, sorry. If this is some kind of contest to show we're "better" than the other guys, count me out.

We already had a "popularity contest," and the other guys won, so I'm done with that. I hope he fails. Miserably. Ignominiously. If it takes a little pain, to teach some people not to be sheep and follow politicians blindly, then I figure we're in for it anyway, so...let's do this.

The other aholes drove around for 8 years with "chimp" stickers on the backs of their Volkswagens, while American troops were dying...so I say it's our turn to have some fun. They had a chance to permanently move the Republican party to the left - closer to them - by electing a wishy-washy moderate pubbican. And they turned it down, in favor of an empty pinstripe Chicago suit. So that settles it. They have left the Republican party firmly in the hands of the cro-magnon Right, and we are hereby free to do what we do best. Namely, bitch, moan, question, undermine, and obstruct.

Somewhere in Kenya - a village is missing its idiot. I like it!

And just as a sub-point: Tim, when you say "work shoulder to shoulder," what makes you think we will be allowed to have any role in this, anyway? Remember: the Democrats HAVE the votes they need to pass ANYTHING they want, save for a filibuster. They don't NEED our votes in Congress for ANYTHING. If they're "asking" for Republican votes, it means they just want to protect their own vulnerable members. It will be like the Wall Street Bailout all over again.

Sure, Republicans, go right ahead and "help" Democrats with immigration amnesty, etc...and then maybe during the mid-term elections, the GOP can lose even more seats!

The only time the Democrats will ask us to "work shoulder to shoulder" with them, is when there's controversial legislation up for a vote (eg, immigration amnesty, Wall Street bailout, etc.), and they want to spare some of their vulnerable Democrat members from having to vote for it. So they will come ask Republicans to vote for it, to let their own people "off the hook."

Anytime in the next 4 years, when the Democrats and Obama appeal to Republicans to "work with them," insert the phrase, "Take the fall, so we can keep our seats."

They don't need our votes. They're the majority. If they're asking for Republican cooperation - there is an ulterior motive.

    1. I will not bitch and moan.

    2. I will do my best to prepare myself for what I see as a very difficult time coming for me and my family.

3.The Democratic party, of which I was once a member, has long ago been hijacked by far left looneys and self serving crooks and I wouldn't sell them my snot.

    4. If, by working shoulder to shoulder, you mean bringing to justice and punishing the treasonous self serving bastards who sold America down the river, I will gladly help to do so. If you mean I should accept hyperinflation and a crushing tax load for bailing out companys that even now continue to stick their face into the public trough in our hour of need, ............

    YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING

If you disagree with the left and stand up for what is right and just then you are being partisan and playing dirty.

If you give in and let them have their way then they call that being BIpartisan, and that is just what our spineless socalled republicans in congress have been doing for years. I have lost all faith in them, heck it got so bad we ended up with the liberal rino McCain running for president.

Until we go back to being conservative we will never change anything for the better. And that starts at the local level in our own cities and towns and states, we can't change it for the good from the top down like we keep trying to.

So I say we be partisan and learn to speak up and be heard!!

I fully intend to return every kindness shown us by the Dem's in the last 8 years, every bit of their cooperation and consideration that they became so famous for.

Following the golden rule, "do unto others......."; they have shown me exactly how they would like to be treated, and I intend to return their same brand of thoughtfulness at every opportunity!

Republican elected officials don't seen to want to 'counterattack' Dem hate statements & criticisms. Dole didn't & neither did Bush. I think that's why the hatred for Bush got so deep & intense.

If something is repeated often enough, w/out rebuttal, people will believe it. It really hurts Republicans not to do challenge derisive remarks.

Rush & Sean do a great job but their the only ones. We can count on them to 'keep score' on 'Dear Leader' but will the Reps do anything about it?

Interesting choice of only two options you offer. They both stink. Taking the high road has to mean working with, which in leftist speak means giving in, and not giving in to them has to mean bitching and moaning.
How about we take the high road by disagreeing with them and educating the public about our one in the world constitution, and how well it works, and why it was designed that way, and how anything that overrides it's baseline law is bad for America and Americans, and promoting sound law, sound policies, and quality legislators instead?

Pray for gridlock! That's right, gridlock.

Goverment has become so FUBAR that EVERYTHING they do creates a bigger SNAFU. So, the best outcome is that they do abslutely nothing.

To that end, I'm with buzz-gun, let's do everything in our limited power to thwart them at every turn.

If the dumbs have there way there will not be a Rush or a Sean, The Fairness Doctrine is one of the first things to institute, Remember Osama said "we listen to the wrong radio talk show and watch the wrong News programs" "But Basicaly we are good people just misguided".

We lay and wait, till he f's up and we bring it up time and time again. Gas is down. that is good for us but opek is cutting back. and when the prices go up and Osamma will not drill here, That ain't gonna look so good then.
Lets get our 1/20/2013 stickers "obamas last day in office" and put them on our AMERICAN Made cars and trucks. And "Obama lied and the people cried"

I usually refrain from repeating a comment in another thread. However, the following seems apropos to this thread:

I don't accept this concept of "pulling together" when an avowed socialist/collectivist becomes President of the republic of The United States of America. I did not vote for, nor did I support, a Socialist/Collectivist.

Everything Obama, Biden, and their ilk believe, run exactly counter to the concepts on which the United States was founded. In Obama's own words, the Supreme Court under Earl Warren, did not go far enough concerning "economic justice" (wealth redistribution). His closest associates have been William Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Saul Alinski and a black militant minister in Jeremiah Wright. He has chosen, as his chief of staff, one of the most vile, liberal Jewish politicians in Chicago (Rohm Emanuel). He has openly insulted middle-class Americans in the ritziest of San Francisco enclaves. He has also vowed to "spread the wealth". He was openly supported by Black Muslims such as Louis Farrakhan.

He has openly referred to "negative" rights of government; in other words, not enough government power.

Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, et al., need to fail miserably, publicly, and soon. The scars of their failure must be the blue print for recovering the republic founded in 1787, and it will not be painless. The price of liberty has never been without cost, and it doesn't get easier the longer we stray down the path of Socialism/Collectivism. Whether we suffer the prolonged pain of the slide into the hell of Socialism/Collectivism, or we choose to suffer the sharp pain of recovering our Republic, it's a choice we all must make.

I didn't support John McCain, either. There is always some ideological room to vote for someone who may not stand for everything one believes. That's part of the political process. However, John McCain represented "Obama Lite". He was a strict compromiser, and a RINO. No freedom-loving American could honestly vote for McCain. The lesser of two evils is still evil.

In the late 1970's, this country suffered miserably under Jimmy Carter. No one cares to remember the misery index of runaway inflation, and prime interest rates of 20%. No one cares to remember his abject lack of leadership during the Iran hostage crisis, lasting 444 days. Time which Carter spent hiding in the White House. It took this country well into President Reagan's second term, before this country recovered from Carter's four years of idiocy and lack of leadership. The same holds forth for this Islamic political hack from Illinois/Kenya/Hawaii/Indonesia, or wherever. Believe what he is, and not what he says.

As Freidrich A. Hayek noted, "...A policy of freedom for the individual, is the only truly progressive policy." Surely, there will be a huge loss of freedom for Americans under this Socialist/Collectivist named Obama.

Bush tried "working together" with these Commie B@$&ards and you see where it got him. They lied, smeared, back stabed, called him every name in the book, and undermined him at every turn! Many of the liberal scum incite stupid crap like "trying Bush for war crimes" yada yada etc. My Grandfather always told me there were two things you can't do. "Reason with a Rattle Snake" and "Make a deal with the Devil"! The Rinos tried to comromise and you see where it got them also. I wouldn't trust ANY of them any farther than I could throw the whole city of Washington!

These people are tough and mean. They will not seek cooperation - they will ram it down our throats!

They are well funded and supported by the media as well so we will hear the same kind of crap as "Camelot, ets.. The selling of this administration will make every thinking person cringe and long for the day, long past, when America came first.

The Fairness Doctrine will end free speech as far as Talk Radio is concerned.

If a broadcaster has 3 hours of Rush and Hannity, he will have to provide the same amount of time for liberal programming.

This just does not work. The failure of Air America to survive without massive injections of cash by George Soros bears witness to that.

So Radio stations, losing their listeners for half the time, will present an endless boring menu of garden and home improvement shows, rather than give away free time half the day.

I'm not so sure about TV. We have 4 news and commentary sources on cable here, and O'Reilly is top dog. And Olbermann has almost been responsible for the destruction of my den TV.

I'll bet they abandon Fairness Doctrine if Conservative commentators get half the time on CNN and MSNBC.

Unfortunately the Obama Truth squad will develop new weapons to silence dissent.

HM, unfortunately the Fairness Doctrine, does not apply to any medium except radio. This way they can get rid of the only outlet that is not spouting liberal propaganda. God save America.
