I just got a report that the crook from western Pa. died in a operation. This democratic crook was being investigated. I hope the surgeon was not a republican.

To all you Marines out there, active or retired, although there's no such thing as a retired Marine, I thank you all for your service to this great country. It is a travesty that this late congressman Murtha used his military background to get elected, then get on a soap box accusing US soldiers of murder in Iraq. Perhaps being a liberal Democrat eventually sucked any common sense and morality right out of him. I hope he and Teddy are having a good time down in the fire pit. Speaking of Teddy, he's got almost six months of sobriety under his belt!! Way to go...

He got off easy......he was under investigation for ethics violations and it probably saved the taxpayers a pile of money by him checking out now.

Benedict Arnold Was an American General, too. That was before he became a traitor.

He actually did very well for the Continental Army.

But that's not what he is known for.

As far as I am concerned, Murtha was a traitor, but never got to join the enemy like Arnold did.

Like Arnold, He will be remembered for his misdeeds.

    Dave,

Believe me, I think they are all pigs at the trough, corrupt lying opportunists, on both sides of the isle. I just think it is a bit tacky to speak ill of the dead so soon after he croaks.Maybe not so much for his sake, but for his family ...most likely very decent people.

Everything that follows is a matter of public record and easily confirmed...

Rep. John Murtha joined the Marines in 1952. When his active duty ended, Murtha remained in the reserves until 1966 when he volunteered for active duty in Viet Nam. He was a decorated combat veteran there earning a Bronze Star, two Purple Hears and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He retired from the reserves in 1990 with approximately 37 years of Marine service.

Murtha was a 19 term Congressman. Coincidentally, he died having also served approximately 37 years in the U.S. House. Like his military service, Murtha's extensive history of political corruption is also a matter of public record. If you're game for hours and hours of reading about political corruption, do a google on 'John Murtha controversy'. From Abscam to the airport nobody ever used, Murtha was a crook and political rotter of the first order.

I respectfully contend that his military service, however honorable, is NOT an affirmative defense to 37 years of DOCUMENTED corruption.

May John Murtha and Ted Kennedy be locked in Death's cold embrace for all eternity and may their souls rot in Hell's rancid cesspool until socialism and communism are eradicated from the farthest corners of the earth...and then for one day more. Sincerely, Kit Thomas
