I just wanted to let Larry and John know that they ran a great shoot this past weekend!

The organization, targets, and trophies were first class! I loved the Duel at Dusk! The scorers were polite and acurate, the fields were kept spotless, I never saw a broken bird thrown, and the target setting was great for the wind!

You guys have set the bar high...keep it up. I was surprised that I did not see a single ISTA Officer or Director. Did I hear correctly that you guys spent $23,000 that week getting all of the new equipment in and installed for the shoot? This sport needs more guys like you! How many trips up and down the line did you guys make? Everytime I looked around you guys were close by and involved.

Just so everyone else knows...they used 8 fields, 7 new wireless voice systems, 1 new wired system, 8 recently rebuilt or recently serviced Pat Traps, experienced line staff and scorers (a few scorers were new but they did a great job), good food, lots of shade, close parking, good prices, great trophies, and provided a great time. Oh by the way I was on my way home by 2:10 PM.

See you May 19 and 20! I am issuing everyone a challange...if you live within a few of hours of Rend Lake...get off the computer and get your trap gun and gear in the car and be there for the May shoot...you will enjoy shooting at the NEW Rend Lake.

Congrat guys you earned it..See you there!

Great run shoot Saturday for the kids as well. Despite some rain, everything went off without a hitch as far as I could tell. The facility looked nice and everyone was doing their job.

I know my son was tickled to death with the shoot as he posted one of his better scores a "98" in Singles in the pouring down rain.

I'm just sorry I couldn't come back on Sunday and shoot the regular program.

Thanks for a great shoot at a great facility.

John and I are glad you guys had a good time. And to answer your question I bet we logged several miles up and down the line as somehow my ATV ended up on the 5-stand course! I guess that's what happens when you leave the keys in it - oh well...You heard correctly on the dollars spent as well.

Anyway here are some pictures of the event. Thanx for the positive feed back and as always, please let John or I know of anything you would like to see changed, improved on, etc.

John trying to push the backhoe out of mud up to the frame. Surprisingly he couldn't move it.

Singles, HAA, and Dual at Dusk Champion Kirk Sanders. Notice how big he smiles when he wins $120.00 at the Dual at Dusk. I'm guessing it is the money.

I shot early Sunday morning, had time just for the doubles and then needed to get on to other things. Great targets, scorers were very good and the grounds looked very nice. Well done! Hope to get back for the next shoot and have time for the entire program.

Larry you were brave shaking hands with L.D. pickens. He is actually a sporting clays shooter in denial.

    Bad303,

That's not Larry shaking hands though. It's the other Rend Lake savior John.

How great to hear about a club resurrected from damnation. And to see the young folks learning the sport. There won't be a gun-banner in the bunch even if they drift away from the sport. Way to go, guys!

Central Missouri isn't too far from Rend Lake. Just maybe...sometime...

    Keep up the good work!

Bad303 you better be careful what you say LD does get on line from time to time! haha

Denny remember we do have several campsites available and I can get ya a great discount at the resort hotels 1/2 mile away from the complex too. We'd love to have ya over sometime so keep that in mind.
