I recently started shooting ammo with Remington wads. There is dramatically more residue left in my barrel at the end of a day's shooting. The interior of my choke tube is completely covered in plastic residue. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anyway to prevent this from occurring?

    Thanks.

I shot one bag of TGT-12 wads and could not believe the amount of plastic that came out of the barrel and that was blocking the porting. It was worse then any CB or Win Wad period.

Then I started using DownRange wads and what a difference. I cleaned my barrel after about 1500-2000 rounds and there was NO plastic. Rem wads are just nasty to clean up after.

I shoot Remington TGT12 all the time and have not noticed any excessive plastic build-up , the only time I get the build-up is when I sometimes switch to the Claybuster clone.

TGT-12S wads are all I use and I don't see plastic buildup, either.

No problems. TGT12S is all I load at the 16 with Clays powder. Maybe it's your powder?

Shot hundreds of Rem factory loads and never saw a cleaner barrel.

I also tried Remington TGT12 wads and experienced excessive plastic build up in the barrel. I got plastic build up from Claybusters too but I think the Remingtons were worse. No problems with plastic deposits using Duster or Downrange wads.

A solution to this problem? Switch to Downrange clones...about as clean as they get. Josh
