Watched the slow motion gun camera video in "Trapshooting with D. Lee Braun and the Remington Pros". Understand this is a classic instruction video. It was pretty neat. If any one is familiar with this video, could you comment as to what type of shooting method was used. Was it "swing through method" or "sustained lead" or some other method? Thank you in advance.

Braun was a leading proponent of the sustained lead method.

    Carmine,

Heard about it in this thread:

Apparently you can get it at the ATA hall of fame according to a poster in that thread but I borrowed a copy from a library.

There's always ebay or someone on this site may have a copy for sale.

    To answer the question:

Regarless what Braun may or may not have been a proponent of, I watched this video a lot of times, and the gun in this video comes from behind, passes the bird, and breaks it.

    That means it's pass-through.

Not necessary if the target is tracked and the gun is in front it is sustained lead. If it passes through the target and then the shot pass through. If it tracks with the target and then moves in front it is pull away. In all three methods you could start the gun behind the target.

thanks for your comments. Is "pass through" same as "swing through"? Looks like there's room for disagreement even if all are looking at same footage.

How times have changed. Those guys actually needed a system for breaking three hole targets with slow lock time 1100's. Contrast that with today and our shoot right at 'em and they'll break!!
