This is a Remington 10ga. sxs, 30" dam. barrels. Lettering on rib is Remington Arms Co. it has rubber butt plate with remington logo. Appears to be grade two. All works, hammers cock and release and firing pins are free.

Please let me know what model and possible value, I would like to sell.

    Thanks, Tom

Tom: based on the SN and rib markings etc it appears to be a Remington Model 1889 Hammer in Grade 2 or 3 depending on if the barrels are twisted steel or damascus. It was likely mfg in 1894. My books say the mfg just over 130,000 of them in various grades and gauges. I'd guess it at $600-1100 retail with out fondling it.
Neat old piece, good luck. Doug

The 1889 was available in fluid steel, twist steel and damascus - Grade 1, 2, 3, all non-engraved. The one pic shows the twist - from that I think this one is a twisted steel barrel. DGG
