Is it the standard weight model or the newer one?

I purchased a mint standard weight with a full choke, vent rib 28 inch barrel for $300. Remington quit makeing barrels for them a long time ago but I found a NIB mod. choke on the internet for $125.

Remington like all the other gun companys have made alot of mistakes over the years and this is one of them.

Droping the standard weight 20 and their model 788 rifle was uncalled for.

My 2 cents, the firearm industry has to many models on the market in their attempt to satisfy the comsumer, hince the poor quailty and constance lack of suppy of new firearms.

Long answer for a short question, sorry!

I personally wouldn't pay more then $350 for a Remington 870, there are to many shotguns brand new in the $400-$450 range that are just as good.

Can you tell us more about what the gun is, or point to it on this page?
