1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

This is a fairly rare Remington 572 Fieldmaster .22 Smooth bore. for Long Rifle Shot only. It is in excellent condition. Pictures show the couple scratches and dings on the wood. The bluing is good, but it has dulled (not worn)a bit on the barrel - no rust. Patterns great to about 25ft.

1st Choice - is to trade for a Beretta 390 28" barrel or similar, prefer something set up for a youth 12ga, but would consider 20ga. Would need to make the trade face to face in North Carolina.

    2nd Choice - $500 + shipped to your FFL. <<<<<<<<<< NEW PRICE

Can you show a close up of the magazine loading port as well as the front site with end of barrel? Is this a smooth bore or Routledge bore?

To ascertain whether this is the rare Routledge bore or not, what is the bore diameter at the muzzle? If .22, then it's simply the smoothbore model. If .410, then it's a Routledge bore, which would have approximately 14" of .22 smoothbore then step up to a .410 bore the rest of the way to the muzzle. It should also be stamped thus on the barrel, but there always seems to be exceptions with Remingtons. I think Routledge bores were discontinued circa 1970.

Only early production guns before 1956 were stamped Routledge Bore. In late 50s the barrel stamp was changed to Choke Bore. 1973 changed to 22 long rifle shot cartridge. In 1974 changed to smooth bore. The only way to tell if it has Routledge bore is to look. In other words Routledge is not stamped on the barrel only pre 1956 guns were. Since this gun was made in 1975 the barrel marking is correct.

I am not looking for Routledge bored guns I have them unfired in the box. I need a regular bored smooth bore model. It is also important that the mag tube loading port is the style that accepts gallery speed load tubes I can't tell by the picture.

Over the years I have collected many Remington,Winchester and mossberg smooth bore guns. I look very close to make sure I don't buy another duplicate.

It is NOT a rutledge/Choke bore. I believe it does have the over sized loading port. Its roughly 1/3 larger than others I've seen. Will post more pics this PpM

couple more picture. sorry I didn't have time to get good pics outside
Also for those interested. On closer inspection of the bluing on the barrel, there are a couple spots that have a hint of brown. It's not what i would consider rust, but I am not an expert when it come to grading. I would consider it more of a discoloration than rust. Mostly on the end of the barrel. I could not see it in the outside sunshine, but the flash of my camera phone brought it out. I'm just trying to give full disclosure. If someone is seriously considering it I can have my wife take some pictures with her Good camera.
