Been working on Remington 48 Shotgun with broken firing pin. I finally got the bolt apart. Rust !!!
The original firing pin seems to be longer than the current 1100 firing pin.
It looks like even though its shorter it might work, I say might.
    Needs to be tested.
Anyone with more experience eh !!!
Remington 48 , 16 Ga with vent rib.

I had a first year 1148 410 which somtimes pierced the primer. Discovered firing pin was broken. Went into a "panic" as to where I could find a replacementfor a 55+ year old gun. A gunsmith at a remington warranty repair center told me to use any 1100/1187 pin.
I did and it worked fine.

Thankyou , I tested it this evening. It worked fine.
I have little experience with 48 or 11/48.
    All the Best.

My first gun. 1148 / 28 gauge. Still use it for bunnies and squirrelies. Knocks the hell out of pheasants too.
