Looking for a good trigger smith in or around Indiana.I had it worked on by our local gunsmith but it still has to much creep and a little heavy.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Dave

There's a guy who advertises 1100 trigger work on eBay at a reasonable cost. Seems to me he offers to provide references too, but I could be making that part up. You might just do a search on eBay to see if his name turns up.

I have one from Spears and out of the 3 releases I have , that is the best . I like it better than my Ljutic or it is an equal . Back yard mechanics suck !!!

    Joe,

What makes you think they have to be fitted to your gun, and why do you say they are not interchangeable? HMB

    FYI to all who care.

I searched around trying to find Dave Munden of Dave's Sports Shop to do some trigger work for an 1100 I just got. He improved the trigger on my daughter's 1100 a few years back.

He no longer advertises on eBay or gunbroker. So I did a google search.

Unfortunately, one of the first hits on the top of the list was his obituary.

He died back in January of this year.

HMB to answer the question of interchangeable 1100 triggers is most of the time thye work ok but not all the time especially in shooting doubles. I have had to have several worked on over the years to function properly on the second shot. It is the part that releases the shell from the tube not expensive but they some times need fitting.

I just had my local gunsmith do it. It came out pretty good. Not a Timney, but I can't tell the difference.

Another vote for Stu Wright. I purchased a Timney 870 release a few months ago that was nearly new but had some problems - some of Allen's later work was edgy - so I sent it to Stu. He went over it completely, tuned it to a crisp set and creep-free, fast release and replaced the hook for $73 including shipping. I'm sure he can make your 1100 pull trigger work as you would like.

DR. Phil Crenweldge of the old P@P gunsmithing. he has tuned a whole bunch of 1100 triggers for me. I don't know what he is charging but he was always very fair with me.

I like to do my own. They are a simple trigger and easy to work on. You can get the weight you like by changing the trigger spring, and you can get rid of the creep by reducing the amount of sear engagement with the hammer notch. HMB
