You chokes are the chokes that came with the new style Remington Trap which is not overbored. Therefore you can use the normal Remchokes in that barrel.

The problems came with the old style Remington Trap guns that had overbored barrels that were constricted down to take relabeled Remchokes, because the total constriction was different. Those older barrels can't be choked more open than about Modified, beacuse of the built in constriction before the choke tube. Those chokes were labeled Full Trap, Extra Full Trap, and Super Full Trap.

Maybe too mush information. Short answer, your gun can use any choke designed for Remchoke guns.

It sounds like you have one of the newer Classic Trap 1100's? The Classic Trap 1100's can use standard RemChokes. A standard Modified RemChoke has about .020" constriction, which is a little more open than your Low Handicap choke. A standard IC Remchoke has about .010", which is not enough to reliably break 16 yard singles targets unless you shoot very quickly.

If you goal is to use you 1100 for hunting, Sporting Clays or Skeet, you can use any standard Remchoke.

There is some confusion with Trap Remchokes because Remington once made an 1100 with an overbored barrel. These barrels were bored to a larger diameter (.745"), than standard barrels (~.729"), and then tapered down to standard bore diameter just before the choke so they could use standard dimension RemChokes. My memory is a bit rusty, but I think they were labeled "Trap Modified", "Trap Improved Modified", and "Trap Full" with no constriction information. These chokes actually have much less constriction than you would think as the markings included the .018" constriction built into the barrel. I can't find one to measure, but if my memory is correct, the constriction of the Trap Improved Mod measured about ~.010" which with the .018" built into the barrel resulted in about .028" for Improved Modified.

These barrels also come for a 870 with the same chokes you have listed. My 1100 TC uses standard rem-chokes and I have Carlson extended chokes ( Skeet,IC,LM,MOD,IM, and Full)for the gun.

You will know nothing until you mic the bore of your shotgun and the chokes and find out the amount of constriction. Inproved cylinder is .010 constiction and modified is .020 constriction. HMB

I have an 1187 with a trap target barrel with a .744" bore. With a full REM CHOKE total restriction is .053". I bought a MOD but still too tight for singles. Going to try a Skeet or IC. Nice thing about REM CHOKES is the price. CHEAP!!! Marc

Marc- how many targets do you get to shoot at per year and what are your averages? Just comparing chokes to averages- nothing personal. When I find it, I will repost an interesting chart about this subject that Mr. Winston posted several years ago. Have fun, Dan

I have 2 870TC's that were made in 1989 and they came with the odd marked chokes (trap full) and so on. But they shoot a regular full Remchoke best of all.

Here is the Remington constriction info. Putting regular Remchokes in an old Trap Style gun is using really tight chokes. A bore gauge is a really good investment. Mark

The first column is bore diameter, the second the diameter of the choke and the third the restriction. The bore diameter is 0.727 on all of the tubes and the diameter and constriction have to equal the .727 The order is from the tightest constriction down to the most open.
