My Remington 1100 has a 30" barrel with a rib. The barrel has a front bead for a sight but no mid barrel bead. Is this common? Should I add a mid barrel bead for improved sighting?

You can certainly install a mid bead with minimal effort and cost but personally I don't see a middle bead as being of any use. Keeping your eye on the target not the gun barrel/bead(s) works alot better for breaking good scores in my experience.

Field barrels do not have middle beads, as a rule. JM

If the gun fits you and shoots where you are looking there is no need for a mid-bead.<br>

If the gun doesn't fit you then the mid-bead helps with consistent alignment.
