remington 1100 extractor

    Can some one tell me how to remove the extractor from a remington 1100 bolt.

    push it in toward the bolt and then 90 degrees it out. But parts will fly.

    I tryed that but it still won't come out should I 90 degree toward the face of the bolt or outward?

    The first time that I changed one I used a small screwdriver (Like you would use for a screw on a pair of glasses). I held the plunger back with the screwdriver and finageled the broken extractor out. I think that I clamped the bolt in a vice so it wouldn't move. The new extractor kind of "pivots" back in. You are not located in the Chicagoland area by any chance? If so, I would be glad to help you with it.
