I bought an older Remington 1100 trap gun but the extractor was broken. I got
a new extractor but it's too big. Did Remington change to a larger extractor?
Someone said that the bolt now uses the 1187 extractor which is larger than the old 1100 extractor.. If that's the case does anyone know where I can get the smaller old style. Remington only lists the 1187 extractor in its parts. Thanks.

The new extractor is just a bit thicker and less prone to break. A few strokes with a file on the slot in your barrel will solve the problem. Mark

    Dear Mark

The 11/87 type extractor will not fit in the older 1100 bolt.

Sorry, good point. I was thinking about using an older barrel on a newer gun. Mark

    Older 1100 12 gauge's use the same thin extractor as a 870 12 gauge.

Give the slot a few strokes with your file and it will fit.
