    Remington 1100 28ga. Simmons Conversion-MINTY-reduced!

REDUCED to $575....Before Remington got around to making 28 ga. 1100's. Simmons and Purbaugh made a living converting standard grade 20 ga. 1100's to 28 bore. The Simmons conversion is a beauty and this one is super crisp! The basic gun was a standard weight 20 ga.(the 12ga. frame model). Simmons converted the barrel to 28 ga. by cutting it off in front of the chamber and sleeving on a 26 inch skeet bored 28 ga. barrel. The original chamber was lined and the magazine was converted to the smaller shell. It's remarkable workmanship. The gun had Simmons standard vent rib and glow worm front sight and mid-bead. This gun has 99% blue and wood finish and functions perfectly. Talk about the ultimate light recoiling shotgun--This is it! Email for pix or call Bill @ 609-658-7739. Own a piece of shotgun history that you can break targets with or chase the birds.REDUCED TO $575 delivered to your dealer in the lower 48.

Sleeving may be an incorrect term. It might better be described as mono-blocked.

    Bill -
I think it would sell if you lower your price, I just bought a Purbaugh
conversion from GunList that is like new for $375. Depending on the Rib
you prefer some folks like the Purbaugh conversion as it was an aluminum
tube epoxied into the bored out 20ga barrel.

A picture would be nice ! Maybe I could use a pair !

Also, if anyone has an 1100 purbaugh .410 conversion for sale
    please let me know

Good luck with the sale, I have not seem any simmons conversions for
sale so they may be worth more than the purbaugh ... all I know is I
had a K32 with Simmons barrels in 20-28-410 and I had to give the
barrels away for $1200 for the set in a case that held the 3 barrels.

They make a great barrel and they shoot well, but the 4-barrel sets you
see for sale with the Simmons barrels versus the factory barrels sell for much less.

Also, on the barrel set note, I also had a K32 4-barrel set that was
made before Krighoff made the 28ga and 410 barrels so the 12ga and 20gs
were standard krieghoff but the 28ga and 410 were 20ga K32 barrels that
were permanently tubed by claude purbaugh. The tubes were epoxied in
and at least the 28ga had been bored out to fit the tube. The tubes
could not be removed. They shot very well, but one of the 28ga tubes developed
a crack in the chamber ( still shot fine ) and several gunsmiths tried to
remove the tube and could not ... this was in the early 90's so purbaugh was
long gone and skeetmaster wanted nothing to do with that project ! the gunsmiths said the only way they could think of getting it out was to basically
bore ( drill ? ) the tube out and as it shot fine the hairline crack was just
cosmetic to me ... Anyway, they are long gone, but I would think that set up would be rare too ? Anyone else have one ? ... once again I got BEAT on the
sale as they were not original and the 4-barrel sets have fallen out of flavor
as everyone likes the tube sets .... Sure wish I had these back !
