A friend of mine recently purchased a new Remington Model 870 Trap (although the gun is actually approx. 7 years old). There was no box or instructions.
The receiver is stamped "870 Trap TC".
Just in front and above the foward trigger retaining pin (on both sides, about 1/4" in both directions) is a slotted srew. They are both the same size which is a little bigger than the retaining pin itself. They are high polish finish and definately appear to be factory installed (matching the blue on the receiver). I have never seen this on a 870 of any variation. Weird!
Question: Does anyone know anything about this? Thank you.

That's a new one to me also, Map. I would love to know why this is. Can you post a picture?

Here is a picture of a new 870 Classic Trap. No screws showing on this one.
