rem. 1100 problems

    rem. 1100 doesn't shoot couldn't load shells wouldn't close took apart cleaned and trigger would shoot put back in gun and didn't even get a click any idea what is wrong or what might be broken need a little help thanks geo3

    any gunsmiths out their I still don't know why this gun doesn't fire when trigger is out shoots fine when put back in gun you pull it won't shoot is their a broken part or what any help please would be app. geo 3

    Not a gun smith but a lot of 1100 experience. Sounds like the bolt is not going into battery. Make sure the cocking lever is full forward in the slot, if not find out why.

    Make sure the barrel is assembled properly and is tight against the receiver. If the "O" ring is an aftermarket X type it's probably too big in cross section and won't let the barrel seat agianst the receiver. If the barrel is not seated the bolt won't go into battery and allow the hammer to drop.
