I have been using CB1100-12 wads with 17.5 grains of 700X for 1 oz. loads in Remington STS hulls w/ winchester 209 primers.. Just noticed that the CB8100-12 wads are replacements for the Remington TGT-12 wads. Anyone had any experience or preference over these two wads?

I use the same load (sometimes switching to 16.4 gr. 700x and a REMSTS primer. Or a FED PRIMER) Both 17.5 and 16.4grains please me very well.

I have been using Green Dusters in place of the CB's and the Rem TGT's. I am very happy with the results of the DUSTER WAD and my chokes and barrel are a bit cleaner after using the Green Dusters. CB's seem to leave more plastic fouling than the Rem. but the GD's are cleanest.

Have you tried dropping less 700x with your loads?

I have heard that the Green Dusters leave less plastic in the chokes. My MEC 9000G with automate drops between 17.3 and 17.6 grains with the same bushing. Not 100% consistent.

I too find that the MEC 650 with a #28 bushing will drop from 17.2 to 17.6 grains thats a lil off but we are under the max pressures so we will be just fine. This is why I like the lighter load #27 bushing round 16.5 grains.

I use both and find no difference. I prefer the 8100 just because I try and match components (Remington with Remington) but the retailer that I buy from doesn't always have them in stock so I buy the 1100's.

I prefer the OEM Remington TGT12S over the Claybuster clone in this wad column. I had a lot of trouble with the Claybuster clone in my MEC Grabber and 9000G, They snapped and popped and were difficult to seat properly. The OEM Remington TGT12 wads simply fly through either MEC.

I prefer the Claybuster 12S0 and 12S3 clones of the Federal 12 "S" wad column. I have no difficulty with them in my MEC's.

I`ve been using the CB1100 for the last 8-10 years and find no problem with fouling at all and I`m dropping 15.5 gr of 700X and using Cheddite primers .

I use them all the time, love the Orange WT-12 for 1 1/8th and 1 ounce loads.

Same as ljutic111 I dropped down to 15.5 700X in the 1960s & still use that or a very similar one if I use a different powder, If I want more I just buy a few boxes of new shells & save the hulls. Ross Puls
