I wouldn't put it in my guns. The closest recipe with the 1 1/8 oz shot, Win. hull, fed 209a primer, but with the AA wad maxed out with 17.5 gr. of 700X and over 11,000psi pressure per the IMR published data. Nope, not in my gun.....breakemall....:Bob Dodd

I load with 700X and Winchester 209. I think the max load is 18 grains of powder with 1-1/8 oz of shot is max. Federal primers are generally considered "hotter" and would take less powder for same speed, higher pressure. 1250 fps and pressure just below max with my Win primer. To be safe, I load with a 17.8 bushing to keep it around 1225 or so fps and the pressure well below max. It can waffle from 17.6 to 17.9, rarely 18, and I never see it over 18 on the digital scale.

I have not shot this full load in quite sometime, as I found 1 oz. to do the job nicely, a bit faster with the same powder, and pressure much more to my liking. If the bird lands, I simply did not do the job and the other 1/8 of an oz. would not have made a difference I believe.

That load looks to be off the charts. Just guessing, but I'd say way over 13,000 PSI and way over 1300 FPS. If I were you, I'd rethink that load and stick with published data.

Blue Duster wad is a substitute for the WAA12, CB1118-12 wad. IMR lists the CB1118-12/Fed209A/18.5gr. 700X/1.125 oz at 1250fps/11,500PSI. Darren

I would not go near that load. It's close or over maximum pressures and a steady diet can ruin a gun or end in disaster.

Send 5 to Kevin Lewis at Downrange. He has a pressure test barrel.

I think he charges $25.00 for 5 test shots.

That will tell you if the pressure is too high.

This is from IMR web site, and is all the 209a primer loads listed. It maxs out @19 grains. You will have to contact Duster wads to get their info, but this is all IMR recomends on their site.
