    Handgun Registration through the IRS
    SB-2099
There is a new bill being run through the Senate (SB-2099) and it will effect all gun owners. The bill has been sent to the Committee on finance. This bill mandates a $50 transfer tax and a $50 registration tax plus a registration of the handgun. This is a backdoor handgun registration and means that the info will be public record and could be used by the government to save the records which is in violation of the Brady Bill. E-mail or write your Senators and Representatives concerning this, remind them that this is an election year and WE WILL REMEMBER.

If you would like to read the bill, go to Thomas at:

    http://thomas.loc.gov/ and search on "SB-2099"

I can't find this bill there. In fact, searching for the word "handgun" only brings up six bills, and s.2099 ain't listed. Where did you get this info from?

Checked it out with NRA. Said old bill that never got out of
committee. Sorry about the false alarm, but got it late yesterday
and couldn't check it out. Sure hope it is a dead issue.
