Has anyone refinished an Americase gun case successfully? I have a Kreighoff KX5 Americase that has the aluminum scratched up and was wondering if anyone had a good method to refinish/repair these cases. Thanks,

It is my understanding that you can just replace the panel by ordering a new one from Americase.

I called them to get a new interior and they asked me $175 plus shipping so I bet they are expensive on the panels also

The panels are fine on my case, it`s the anodized aluminum frame that is scratched up. Knowing that anodizing is irreparable I was considering a paint job. but I was wondering if anyone had done something different.

Buy the case cover from them. Never see the scratches again...

I saw one that was all scratched up from air travel---He sanded with very fine paper and took it to a auto shop and had it painted to match----Looked new when finished---I think the guy did it for nothing----George

Why not powder coat it. Powder coat is tougher than auto paint.

What if you buy one of those case covers and it gets scratched up? Do I then buy a cover for my case cover until it gets scratched? How many layers until I realize this is insane?

Thanks for all the comments guys, I guess I live with the scratches or simply go buy a new K-80 with a new case!
