1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

Well Tom that scope is now 178 and obviously not as good of condition as mine

ITS AN AUCTION TOM- look it up in the dictionary

That is why it was 128 and its not 178 - lol-- nor is the shipping included

But Tom- this one is fixed price- its not going up and shipping is included

    regards from Iowa

    Gene

PS - I did sell those gold plated scope rings and had a lot of people that wanted them

If Genes sells for his asking price, I have the same scope that I will sell to the second place bidder.

LOL ccrider!! I guess I am now on Gene's list?! For your info old boy, I know what the definition of auction is! You might try the definition of "completed" listings on Ebay! The one sold on 8 Dec for $128.05 and another sold yesterday for $150! Of course, with your free shipping, I believe you have a bargain going and someone ought to snap it up! Tom Rhoads

Here is one for 179 now http://cgi.ebay.com/Redfield-WideField-2-7x28mm-Rifle-Scope-USA_W0QQitemZ380287517655QQcategoryZ31714QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp5197.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D5607232014096500818

I have an older 2x7 like this scope, plus a newer one just before Redfield quit making them. Are both made in Denver? Which model is more desirable?
Sorry for stepping on your ad. These are great scopes.

Gene77777777 the one on Ebay is a buy it now and it is not bought yet. I remember about a year and a half ago I was selling a San Remo on here you stated it was not a San Remo and offered not sure of the exact figure but somewhere around $1500. I later sold it for $4000. Yours sales always seem to be listed with a very nice markup but when you buy you'll bad rap the sellers product like it's a piece of sxxx. Buy low sell high. Nice way to treat the guys on here. Bulge.

Bulge- if I said it wasnt a san remo - it wasnt a san remo- and shame on you for telling someone it was and marking it up like it was- and I probably told you that offline

BulgeI also told you that you didnt have an $8000 dollar black ops 1911 but rather a beat up old 45 that someone had ground the serial number off of- and probably saved you a two year federal prison stay in the process- and did you thank me? No

Plus there were several other weird things you were trying to pawn off on here

On to the scope- I really dont know what mine is worth but

I think the Denver scopes go for more money to answer the question and for sure the widescreen TV scopes go for a lot more money than the comparable round tube Redfield scopes of the same manification and era.

    Regards from Iowa

I looked at my newer 2x7 and it was made in the Philippines!
Took it off the 45/70 and installed the Denver made 2 ¾ widefield.
Thanks for the information and good luck with the sale..

Any new scope, even the cheap ones, will have better coatings than any old scope, even the expensive ones. Clarity and light transmission are more affected by the coating than about anything else. If you want a nostalgia, or period-correct, piece for an old rifle, and don't care so much about the optics, Gene's Redfield is a good one.

EE--I am not in agreement with that- because coatings are cheap. They dont make a lot of improvements in coatings - at least not over the last 25 years or so

If your argument was correct ever tasco would be as good as the 2000 dollar scopes as far as light transmission

Clarity has little to do with coating but a lot to do with lens material and engineering

This scope design has been very popular for hunting scopes on big game rifles and is proven.

    regards from Iowa
