I am in need of some input regarding recoil reducers. Are the mercury reducers you install in the butt stock effective? I have switched to 7/8 oz. loads this has helped.

Any time you reduce the payload or speed of the shell you will reduce recoil.

Anytime you add weight to the gun you will reduce the recoil.
Does an 8 ounce mercury reducer work better then an 8 ounce lead weight, probably not much.

You may need to add some weight to the front of the gun to maintain the feel.

The added weight will help reduce recoil with a mercury setup. Mike.

A displacement type recoil reducer is more effective than just adding weight. Graco's reducer is simple and cost effective. For the ultimate in recoil reduction consider a G Square. The G Squared is about three times the cost of a Gracoil but the sliding comb may be worth it.
