    I generally shoot Remington Nitro Sporting Clays 1 1/8oz @ 1300 without discomfort...unless I am shooting a 4-500 bird event(s). (for sporting / FITASC / 5-stand...not trap)

So I picked up a couple flats of Federal papers...1 1/8 oz. Handicap loading. I've often heard about the recoil reduction with paper shells, but never experienced it firsthand and thought I'd see for myself.

Well, that didn't work. I shot some up yesterday evening and HOLY SMOKES. Those Federals sound like my Longshot reloads and perceived recoil seems much greater than the Remington Nitro shells. (I shoot a DT 10) I almost wonder if I didn't get a "hot batch" of these things.

So...am I losing my mind here or am I trying to compare apples to oranges?
