Recipe for Federal Papers and 12c1

    Fellow reloaders,

I found a bit of a reloading room gold today. I was straightening up the reloading room and came across some once fired Federal papers (still in very nice shape) and a few bags of 12c1's.

I'm looking for a good load for these componets. I'm only interested in a 1200/1235 load for these hulls and wads. I'm not having very good luck finding info for this hull and wad.

    Thanks!

Hodgdon has some data listed on their site and some of the older manuals from Alliant list the 12C1.

Send me a PM with your email address and I can send you a pdf from Alliant with some data. Here's two from one of the manuals.

    Fed 209A Primer 18.0 grains Red Dot Fed 12C1 1 1/8 oz shot 8500 PSI 1145 fps

    Fed 209A Primer 19.0 grains Red Dot Fed 12C1 1 1/8 oz shot 9300 PSI 1200 fps

The 'classic' 3 dram - that produced that unique 'time travel' smell - was 20-21gn of Green Dot.

Fed Papers and 12C1 are about all I load, and I prefer some amount of PB for lead, and Longshot or SR4756 for Bismuth.

Precision Reloading has OEM Fed12C1 wads, btw.

22.5 green dot and a Federal 209a or old style 209 with 1 1/8 of the hardest shot you can get. It will break a target as far as you can properly point it.

Thanks all. I guess GreenDot it is.

I've got enough to load about 2,000 rounds.
